Introductions and Council Assignments
Review of Trustlands Responsibilities and Assignments- video
- What’s new this year- using technology as a council, involve parents through online meetings
- Nobody from the school will ever ask for money over email. Be aware of emails from members of the community council, they could be scam.
School News
- No restrictions because of Covid, so activities will look like they have in the past
- Santa will be visiting, along with Mrs. Claus
- Roy High Choir coming to sing, assembly for the whole school
- Roy Jr. High Choir coming to sing for just the 6th grade
- Sing Along Assemble will be held
- Dates should be posted in the school newsletter that went out yesterday
PTA Fundraiser
- Through PTA fundraisers they would like to invest some of the money, about $18,000, on security camera upgrades throughout the school.
- Cameras will be placed around the school:
- 1 in each grade kiva
- Some more in the hall, to help see all the way down the hall, reduce the number of blindspots
- In the outside kivas, between the grades. Currently there is only one camera in between 5th and 6th grade.
- Camera Questions:
- Mr. Lott has access to camera footage
- It is shared to the police, in the event of an emergency they have “eyes” in the school from the beginning
- There is a district employee who helps pull and save footage if ever needed
Emergency Drills
- Frequency and type were discussed
- Fire monthly
- Other types throughout the year
- We just had an event at the school that we needed to clear the halls and used a “hold” for.
Future Meetings
- There are requirements that have to be met through our meetings, at certain meetings in the year.
- All parents are invited to attend the meetings, but we have not had parents attend any meetings in recent years.
- Safety discussion and review is one of the requirements.
- Brandon and Cami will discuss if we will be having a January meeting, or hold off until February. If we have a January meeting, it would be held January 5, the day after coming back from break.
Motion to close the meeting Brandon Lott, seconded by Annalynne Yamashita at 4:07pm.
