Our members will be same as above including Tracy McBride.
Tracy McBride, Becky Dills and Diane Rockwood are employed by the district.
Crystal motioned that we accept the members of the Community Council
Kim seconded the motion
All members in attendance were in favor of accepting the members as read.
Kim nominated Crystal to be the Community Council Chair
Heather seconded it.
Community Council meetings will be held on the third Thursday of every month.
Due to fall break, October’s meeting will be held on October 13th.
Diane motioned for the date change in October. Kim seconded it. 100% were in favor.
Freedom Elementary has a rule that no skateboards, ripsticks and rollerblades are allowed at
school. Crystal motioned that we amend the rule to allow students to use skateboards, ripsticks
and rollerblades. Annalynne seconded it. 100% were in favor of the motion.
Budget review:
$451 in carry over
AmeriCorps has been added to Freedom. The AmeriCorps volunteer coordinator will work 8
hours a day but we will only have to pay for 4 of the 8 hours,
Technology update: We have added 2 labs, 3 class sets of chromebooks, 2 class sets of iPads,
5 iPads in each kindergarten class. Technology Tuesday is offered every week to help teachers
learn how to use technology in their classroom.
Kindergarten students who graduated to 1st grade this year were able to maintain their DIBELS
growth remarkably better than in past years.
3rd grade ELA scores were above the district. Math was below; however, the teachers are
re-evaluating and making changes.
4th grade ELA scores dropped below the district. Math was equal to the district. Science was
below the district.
5th grade scores were above district in ELA, Math, and Science.
6th grade scores were above the district in ELA and Math. They were below the district in
Science.
