"This will be my 15th year teaching and I’m excited to join the 4th grade team! I’ve taught everything from Kindergarten through 3rd Grade and literacy instruction is my favorite! I’m a dance mom, I love the beach and love to go on runs from time to time. This will be my fourth year at Freedom and I’m excited for another amazing year with the wonderful staff! "

Meet our NEW Assistant Principal Lara Tingey
Hello, Freedom Elementary families!
I’m so excited to introduce myself and join the Freedom Elementary community! I’m looking forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff and becoming part of such a wonderful school.
I’ve been in education for 24 years and have had the opportunity to work at Lomond View, Midland, and West Haven Elementary. Throughout my career, I’ve served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles, most recently as an assistant administrator at Farr West and Majestic. I have master’s degrees in Curriculum and Leadership and have also completed coursework in instructional coaching.
Outside of school, family is my favorite thing. My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for almost 28 years. We have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two adorable grandchildren who keep us busy and smiling!
When I’m not at school, you’ll most likely find me boating, fishing, paddle boarding, camping, gardening, or enjoying the outdoors with my family.
I believe that relationships are at the heart of a great school. When students, families, and educators work together in a positive and supportive environment, amazing things can happen. I’m excited to learn from the incredible Freedom staff, work alongside Principal Breeding, and partner with our families to make this a wonderful year for our students.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Freedom family. I can’t wait to meet you and begin this journey together!
Lara Tingey, Asst Principal.

As many of you know, it was announced at last week’s Weber School District Board meeting that Mr. Lott will be transferring to Country View Elementary, and I was named principal of Freedom Elementary.
Some of you parents that go way back, may remember me from years ago. I interned here at Freedom eight years ago under Diane Rockwood. I always hoped I would find my way back, and here I am! I’m genuinely excited to join your school community and look forward to serving the students, teachers, parents, and community of Freedom Elementary.
I come to you from Hooper Elementary, where I’ve served as principal for the past seven years. While it’s hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful community, I am absolutely thrilled to join the Freedom family.
I’ve heard wonderful things about the dedication and care here, and I share that same commitment. I am a strong child advocate and believe deeply that school should be a safe place where every student can thrive. Your children’s safety, academic growth, and happiness will always be at the center of my work.
For those I haven’t met yet, here’s a little about myself. I live in Plain City and enjoy my time on my “mini-wanna-be ranch.” I have three grown and married daughters and six adorable grandkids! When I’m not at school, I find my peace on the back of my horse and love trail riding in our beautiful Utah mountains.
I look forward to meeting you and your children as we begin this exciting new chapter together.
Warmly,
Kari Breeding
